Habit Tracker: 100+ Layout Ideas for Bullet Journal

How To Stick With A New Habit

Ever wondered why you never seemed to stick into one new good habit?

Don’t worry. You aren’t alone. But before we get into habit tracker layout ideas, let’s dive in a lil bit why is it so hard to adjust into a new habit.

I’ve been reading lots of articles related to productivity tips and how to keep a habit that will stick recently. I stumbled upon JamesClear.com which explains in detail why certain habits don’t work and how to fix it.

In case you don’t know who James Clear is, he is the author of Atomic Habits (you can check it out here, you might find it useful)

In his article, one of the common mistakes that cause new habits to fail is that we tend to seek a result, instead of a ritual.

Here’s the problem: New goals don’t deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is not an outcome, it is a process. For this reason, all of your energy should go into building better rituals, not chasing better results.

– James Clear

That right there resonates best with me. I always have this exact result in mind that I want to achieve yet when it comes to putting myself in a new ritual, I lost motivation so quickly.

So this time I committed to focus on the ritual instead of a result.

Then what’s all this has something to do with a habit tracker, Abby?

Well, we are bullet journal lovers, so we definitely want to create that beautiful habit tracker spread AND still want to make sure it’s working for us.

I feel like it’s my job to make sure that you have the ability to create something beautiful and useful in your bullet journal spreads.

Because let’s be honest, sometimes we are too caught up creating and decorating our bullet journal pages, take pictures of it then ended up not using it. (been there, it’s ok)

How To Create a Habit Tracker

If you are someone who likes learning from the video better, I found this super useful tutorial you might want to check out.

Alright! If you make it into the end of the list, kudos to ya! Then I assumed you are ready to kick ass 2020 with new habit trackers and make them to actually improve your life.

I’ve had plenty of habits I wanna develop in 2020, but as James Clear said, we gotta start small.

So writing for this blog every day for one hour and publish an article every Tuesday & Friday is gonna be my first new habit.

Lots of people out there have made it and successfully developed new habits that changed their life for the better, so if they can, you (and me) can do it too! :)

I’ll see you on Friday.
